Q I live alone. How will I know when I have quit snoring?
A When you stop snoring, several changes may occur. Your mouth will not be as dry when you wake up. You may notice that you are not waking up as often or at all to go to the bathroom during the night. You may also notice that you are waking up without headaches (if you used to have them) and feeling more refreshed. You can also tape yourself sleeping.

Q My allergies are bothering me, causing a stuffy nose. Should I begin the program now?
A
No. If you are unable to breathe through your nose, you will not be able to perform the necessary exercises for this program. Wait until your nose is clear.

Q I haven’t started this program yet. I think that I sleep great but my wife says that I snore. How can this benefit me?
A
It is probably safe to say that your wife is being truthful. You have also probably been snoring for several years, if not most of your life. Our body tends to get “used” to feeling a certain way and we forget or are unaware of how much better we could feel if we actually slept better. Start the program. Follow the instructions and you will probably notice some changes in the way you feel within a few weeks, if not sooner. Some people notice drastic changes within a few days of beginning the program. When your wife comments that your snoring is “quieter” or has stopped, then you should definitely be feeling better.

Q I want to stop using my CPAP machine. Is it going to be possible with this program?
A That answer can only come from your physician or sleep specialist. WARNING: Sleep apnea is a potentially life-threatening condition and anyone who has symptoms of sleep apnea should consult their physician or a specialist in sleep medicine.
There were some participants of this research program who were using a CPAP machine. Most of them still possessed a number of symptoms that might indicate they were not sleeping well so they decided to participate in the study, while continuing to use their CPAP machine. Amazingly, a great percentage were able to feel relief from some, if not all, of their sleep deprived symptoms. Please refer to the CPAP user graph.
Since the program is harmless, it is certainly worth a try. It is NOT recommended that you stop using your CPAP machine without consulting your sleep specialist. If you complete this program and feel that you have a reduction in certain symptoms, then consult your doctor about your continued use of the CPAP machine. Even if you continue to use the CPAP machine, it is possible you will feel better during the day as a result of completing this program.

Q How does this program work?
A The machines, surgeries and dental appliances that are available to help people stop snoring have one common goal: change the location of the tongue so it will not get in the airway and interrupt breathing. Some surgeries actually change the location of the jaw, which in the end, ultimately changes the location of the tongue in respect to the entire mouth and throat. Q How do I get the free QuickTime software needed to play the online videos?
A If you don't already have the QuickTime plug-in (a "plug-in" is a piece of software), you can download it, free of charge, from Apple Computer. It takes just a few minutes to download it onto your hard disk and install it. From then on, it will open automatically whenever you access QuickTime movies wherever you are on the Web. QuickTime software is available for Windows OS and for Macintosh OS. Click the "Get Quicktime" buttom above. After it is installed, return to this site.

Q Is there a higher-resolution (better) version of the QuickTime movie available?
A No. All movies are optimized for fast playback over all internet connections.

Q The Windows Media Player logo appears when I try to play a QuickTime movie, but the movie never plays. What is going on?
A Your computer system is configured to try to play QuickTime files in Windows Media Player instead of in QuickTime. Windows Media Player will be unable to play QuickTime movies found on the IJustWantToSleep® Web site. Reinstall QuickTime; we recommend downloading a fresh copy of the current version using the links above.
